Receptionist
Position Summary:
The Receptionist is responsible for basic clerical tasks such as answering phones, greeting patients and visitors, and scheduling appointments in a professional and timely manner; as well as entering demographic and insurance information into the system.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• Two (2) years of relevant experience is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, ten key and internet applications
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
• Excellent organizational, written and verbal communication skills with an attention to detail a must
• Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks with speed and accuracy
• Ability to handle sensitive and/or confidential material strictly in accordance with company policy

• Ability to be given direction once and apply logic in future tasks
• Must be able to effectively & efficiently multi-task, set and shift priorities and adapt to change

Essential Functions:
• Answer phones and schedule appointments
• Greet all patients and visitors with courtesy and respect
• Ensure that all information in the patient’s chart is updated in the computer and in the medical record at each visit
• Enter new demographics and insurance information into computer system
• Obtain copies of patient insurance cards at each visit
• Scan information in the patient charts as directed
• Ensures that inventory of necessary office supplies and equipment is maintained for business purposes
• Maintains HIPAA confidentiality requirements
• Provide service to patients while maintaining a positive patient relations atmosphere
• Interacts in a friendly manner with patients, medical staff and employees on a continuous basis
• Follows aseptic policy and procedures for using precautions when involved in direct patient contact or handling potentially infectious materials
• Follows the safety guidelines and policies for the department
Nonessential skills and experience:
• Perform other duties as required or assigned
